  • Wye & Usk Wild Stream Map/Directions/Instructions

    #1
It was my birthday yesterday and I was bought a "Wye and Usk Foundation Wild Streams" season license. And now I have all bank holiday weekend to wander about enjoying the fishing.

Sadly, the registration process does NOT send out the maps that show where I can actually fish. Ad there's nobody in the office/replying to emails until after the weekend. The process does send out lots of legal stuff and useful information about pollution, etc. Seems like I'll have to make do reading through that info, waiting until the office is open on Tuesday to see where I could have fished this weekend.

That is, unless someone on this forum can assist. I'm interested in the locations along the Lugg but if any of you are familiar with other locations instead then I'll adjust my plans to suit. I'm able to forward you my registration details as proof I did actually pay the £110 license fee.

    Thanks in advance.

      Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I've viwed the Passport document. It does list the Wild Stream beats (e.g. Pilleth, Litton and Middlemor on the Lugg) but it doesn't define them in sufficient detail to be able to fish them without the risk encroaching on sections of the river that are NOT covered by the permit. There is slighly more detail listed on the web site and it is possible that if you are familiar with the area then the information is sufficeint to avoid illegal fishing. But I'm not at all familiar with the area. For example:
      http://www.wyeuskfoundation.org/fish..._luggarrow.php
      http://www.wyeuskfoundation.org/fish...p?beat=pilleth

I've given up on my hope of fishing there this weekend but I look forward to taking opportunity in the fture.

Thanks again for your response. Have you fished any of the WUF Wild Stream beats yourself?

I fished a lot of the border rivers before WUF had them but i do not recognise the boundaries now I'm sorry. The Monnow seems to be the best of them.

Thanks again. I'll aim to take a wander along the MInnow before the end of the season.
